Winners of the 9ᵉ Gala Dynastie revealed
Montreal, April 26, 2025 - The 9th edition of the Gala Dynastie took place in an electrifying atmosphere, live from Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts. This not-to-be-missed event of the year, presented by TD Bank Group in collaboration with SODEC, highlighted the exceptional achievements of personalities from Quebec's black communities. Once again, the Gala Dynastie has established itself as a key event for honoring the impact of black talent on Quebec's artistic and media landscape.
For the second year running, comedian Garihanna Jean-Louis took the reins as host of the evening. True to her reputation as a queen of humor, she set the stage ablaze and captivated the audience, combining caustic humor and politics, while adding her own personal touch to the evening's various highlights. Her dynamic presence and unique style perfectly illustrated the festive and supportive spirit of the event.

As every year, the public had their say by voting for their favorite among the Gala Dynastie finalists. This year, xxxxxxxxx walked away with top honors.
Celebrating talent and impact: Anthony Kavanagh and Tai TL take center stage
In a warm and emotional atmosphere, the Fondation Dynastie had the privilege of awarding this year's Grand Prix Dynastie (Prix Doudou Boicel) to Anthony Kavanagh, a true legend of Quebec comedy. With his unique talent and ability to push the boundaries of comedy, Anthony not only marked his era, but also paved the way for a new generation of comedians. His commitment to breaking down barriers, both on stage and in society, embodies pride and resilience. The Grand Prix Dynastie thus honors a man whose impact extends far beyond the comedy scene, inspiring entire generations and shaping today's cultural landscape.
The Impact Dynasty 2025 Prize was awarded to Tai TL, an artist whose impressive career continues to redefine the standards of contemporary creation. Tai TL continually pushes boundaries, reinvents codes and challenges perceptions, offering limitless inspiration to today's creative youth. This award recognizes not only his exceptional talent, but also the profound impact his work has had on an entire generation of artists and creators. In awarding him the Prix Impact Dynastie 2025, the Foundation is highlighting the boldness and vision of Tai TL, a true ambassador for creative youth and cultural transformation.
Tribute to Herby Moreau: the red carpet star hunter
The Gala Dynastie also celebrated the legacy of Herby Moreau, host and cultural journalist who passed away in 2024. Nicknamed the Star Hunter, Herby left his mark on the history of Quebec showbiz, interviewing top international celebrities at the Oscars, the Cannes Film Festival and other prestigious events. His audacity and professionalism have made him a key figure in the media world, capable of capturing unique moments and sublimating artists.
This tribute was paid to him through a moving musical performance by his friend Jennifer Silencieux. Herby Moreau's family were on hand to share the moment.

An electrifying evening of music and talent!
The Gala Dynastie came to life with exceptional performances celebrating the artistic richness of Quebec's black communities. Presented by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, the event captivated audiences with a varied, dynamic program full of surprises.
The evening got off to a flying start with Cirque Kalabanté, who combined impressive acrobatics with African traditions, setting the tone for a vibrant evening. Then Sajaa, with her deep, emotive voice, transported the audience into an intimate atmosphere with her spellbinding fusion of jazz and soul. Kizaba took the stage with a unique blend of electro and Afro-Congolese rhythms, delivering a performance full of energy and modernity.
Talented artist Jennifer Silencieux then wowed the audience with a powerful, emotional performance, marking a return to the stage.
To round off the evening in style, Haitian star J Perry set the stage alight with his blend of konpa, reggae and zouk, an energetic finale that had the whole room dancing.
