The Sommet Dynastie 2025 Sommet Dynastie , under the banner of innovation and creativity, promises not only to deepen reflection on prospects in the cultural and media worlds, but also to spark conversations about the opportunities to be seized in these fast-changing industries.
With this in mind, the Summit team has chosen two emblematic figures from the cultural and creative industries, Dejha Carrington and Cameron Bailey, to lead the major conversations at this 2nd edition.
Dejha Carrington - April 22, 2025
Dejha Carrington is a bridge-builder between artists and communities. Dedicated to the arts, she is a committed professional and co-founder of Commissioner. Her work is based on a clear objective: to support artists and create models of access to art.
In 2017, she co-founded Commissioner, a membership program that encourages the collection of contemporary art within local communities. Inspired by African, Caribbean and women's collective savings strategies, Commissioner relies on the group economy to finance art commissions.
From 2015 to 2022, she held the position of Vice President of Strategic Communications at YoungArts, the national foundation supporting emerging artists. Prior to that, she led public relations and outreach projects for the Kimball Art Museum, the Medellín Biennale in Colombia and the National Film Board of Canada.
Born in Montreal and a graduate of McGill University, Dejha has now settled in Miami, where she continues to forge links between artists and communities.
At the Sommet Dynastie, Dejha Carrington will bring her unique expertise in supporting artists and creating models of access to art. Through innovative models inspired by community practices, she will propose concrete solutions to enable creators to flourish independently. By rethinking art support structures, it will pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable approach, essential to shaping the future of artistic creation.
Cameron Bailey - April 23, 2025
As General Manager of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Cameron Bailey brings unparalleled expertise to the world of art and cinema. With a career spanning more than 30 years, this renowned visionary has consistently shaken up the boundaries of international cinema. Since his arrival at TIFF, he has breathed new life into the event, helping to create emblematic sections such as Planet Africa and highlighting diverse voices within the film world. It is also under his leadership that TIFF has grown to become one of the world's leading film festivals.
In addition to his strategic direction at TIFF, he has also taught film conservation at the University of Toronto, and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Western Ontario. His influence extends far beyond the world of cinema: he has been named a member of the Académie des arts et des sciences du cinéma, and has been awarded the Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France. Every year for over 12 years, Toronto Life has ranked him among Toronto's 50 most influential people.
As a true pioneer, Cameron Bailey also raises crucial questions about how technology is redefining our relationship with art. How can artificial intelligence enrich, not replace, human creativity? How can technological innovation be reconciled with the fundamental values of culture and diversity? These are just some of the questions that Cameron Bailey, whose career has been marked by a desire to democratize access to culture, will shed unique light on.
The conversation with Dejha Carrington will take place on Tuesday April 22 at 2pm and will be hosted by Keithy Antoine.
The conversation with Cameron Bailey will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm and will be hosted by Martine St-Victor.
