about the program
Écho Musique is aimed at emerging and mid-career professionals who want to benefit from strategic support to advance a project related to the music industry.
Through 21 in-person sessions, as well as 10 online capsules, you'll be guided by industry experts, with structured coaching, mentoring and opportunities to connect with industry professionals.
The program concludes with a presentation of your project in front of a panel of experts, a unique opportunity to hone your pitch, attract potential partners and solidify your trajectory in the music industry.
Target audience
Candidates aged 21 and over, emerging or mid-career artists, entrepreneurs and music professionals. Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Écho Musique is aimed at artists and music professionals in the early and mid-career stages of their career, who wish to boost their career or implement an artistic support project.

- Be a member or descendant of black communities;
- Must be at least 21 years old;
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status;
- Have a project in development, either to structure and advance your own career as an independent artist, or to lead an initiative to support the development of other artists;
- Reside in the province of Quebec ;
- Be recognized as a professional by your peers ;
- Have produced at least one musical project presented in a professional context;
- Be available to participate in the face-to-face program for its entire duration;
- If your mother tongue is English, bilingualism is an asset, as the training will be in French only.
Step1: Register!
It's time to fill in the registration form. To complete it, you'll need to submit:
- Your CV;
- A maximum 3-page document presenting: 1) your project, 2) its objectives, 3) the people involved, 4) an idea of the costs, 5) a general schedule (without too many details, because the program is there to help you structure it!) and 6) the aspects on which Écho Musique can support you;
- A video of less than 5 minutes in which you: 1) introduce yourself, 2) tell us about your career in the music industry, 3) explain your project and the challenges you face, and 4) explain why Écho Musique is essential to helping you make it a reality;
- An excerpt from an example project (optional) ;
- A link to project examples (optional).
Step 2: Introduce yourself!
In the form, send us a short video presentation. It's your chance to shine! Tell us about yourself, your background, what made you want to become a music professional, what makes you unique, and why you want to join our program.
Step 3: Confirm your registration
Once you've submitted the form, you'll see a message confirming that your application has been successful.
Step 4: Evaluating your application
Once you have submitted your application, our team will carefully analyze your file, taking into account your background, your commitment and your development potential.
We'll also look at your artistic achievements, your professional vision and your motivation for joining the program. We're looking for candidates who are ready to invest themselves fully in this experience.
Each application will be carefully and rigorously evaluated.
Step 5: Update your registration
We'll keep you informed of the progress of your application by e-mail. Selected applicants will be contacted by e-mail between May 26 and May 30, 2025. Stay tuned!

LeBlaze is a Burundian artist based in Montreal, whose music fuses pop, electro, Afro and hip-hop sounds. He draws on his roots and experiences to create tracks that are both danceable and deeply human.
After his participation in the Francouvertes and several first shows, he is preparing a project with pop-rock accents, with the desire to break the frames that often confine racialized artists to the "urban" label.
He joined Écho Musique to refine his artistic vision, structure his career and work with committed professionals.

RèN Darah

A singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist of Haitian origin, she fuses R&B, rara and konpa into an authentic world music. RèN Darah is a singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist. Inspired by her Haitian roots, she offers an alternative world music composed of R&B/soul, rara tech and Konpafusion.
After a five-year career, she has been nominated and won several competitions and awards, including Cégep en spectacle 2019, best female voice at the Kilimandjaro Awards 2024, and Jeunes talents de Culture Outaouais 2024. She performs on numerous stages and festivals in Quebec.
She chose ÉCHO to enrich her knowledge as an artist-entrepreneur and to continue developing an art form that celebrates femininity, authenticity and the richness of plural identities.

Born in Montreal to a Caribbean mother and a Moroccan father, he grew up between cultures and continents. After a first project launched in 2022, he continues his quest for identity by exploring voice, narration and rhythms.Canadian rapper, singer and songwriter Elias was born in Montreal, Canada, in the spring of 2002, to a Caribbean mother and a Moroccan father. He had the privilege of growing up at the crossroads of several cultures, traveling between South and North America, but keeping Canada as his anchor.
Passionate about music from an early age, he began to practice it as a hobby, taking part in family karaoke evenings and improvising at musical gatherings with friends. Gradually, he moved from performing at private parties to a more serious commitment to a musical career.
His career has been marked by in-depth work on vocal technique, storytelling and the exploration of different rhythms and melodies. Elias officially launched his first musical project in August 2022. Today, he explores his roots in a quest for identity and meaning.

Florence Blain-Mbaye

Actress, singer and oboist, she works in a variety of disciplines, including film (Berlinale, Locarno), dubbing, stage and music (album Les lignes désir). Winner of the Gala Dynastie 2024, she has a remarkable and committed artistic career.

- Florence Blain Mbaye, Écho Musique program participantFlorenceBlain Mbaye is a multidisciplinary artist, a graduate of the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Montréal and the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. An actress, she played in Cette Maison by Miryam Charles (Berlinale 2022) and Faire un enfant by Éric K. Boulianne (Locarno).
On television, she appeared in Bellefleur by Sarah-Maude Beauchesne and Nicolas Morel, and Dumas by Luc Dionne. She also dubs Inside Out 2, The Color Purple and The Holdovers. A singer-songwriter, oboist, singer and sound designer, she produced her first album, Les lignes désir, in 2023.
Her stage credits include Cabaret Noir (MAYDAY), Malaise dans la civilisation (DLD Danse), Salle de nouvelles (Théâtre Niveau Parking), Sappho (Théâtre de l'Affamée), and Traversée (Voyageurs Immobiles), a bilingual show in French and LSQ.
In 2024, she received the Film/TV Actress of the Year award at the Dynasty Gala and a nomination for the Canadian Screen Awards.

Burundian-born artist, born in Tanzania, he blends Afro-pop and intimacy in a music of refuge. His career began in a basement, as an outlet, before asserting itself on stage. Author, composer and performer, PriceKeyz is an artist of Burundian origin, born in Tanzania. For him, music is a healing space, a refuge where he can express himself in complete freedom. He blends Afro-pop with a personal and intimate touch, always true to what he feels.
The Écho Musique program is a chance for him to grow, learn and take his vision even further.
His musical journey began in a basement, with no intention of making a career of it, but with a deep need to confide in others without judgment. It was behind the microphone that he felt most heard.
Today, he wishes to continue exploring, discovering himself artistically and learning the codes of the trade, while gradually positioning himself in the market.

A Montrealer of Haitian origin, she blends alternative R&B and electro in raw lyrics about female vulnerability. She is preparing a debut album and sees Écho Musique as a springboard for clarifying her vision and building her strategy.
Haitian-born Montrealer Naïma Frank is a singer-songwriter who blends alternative R&B, pop, electro and a touch of the unclassifiable. With audacious vulnerability, she sings of feminine distress and the strength that emanates from it, through disarmingly realistic prose.
She's currently working on her first album, which is both assertive and liberated, with the intention of shaking up the codes of traditional R&B.
For her, Écho Musique represents a valuable opportunity to clarify her artistic vision, structure her project and elaborate a development strategy consistent with the evolution of her career.

Sendji from the Sliberium group

A multidisciplinary artist from Cameroon and member of the Sliberium group, he combines poetry, music and photography to tell the story of the urban realities of the diaspora. Tristan Sendji, a Montreal-based Canadian of Cameroonian origin better known as Sendji, is one of the founding members of Sliberium. First a multidisciplinary artist, then a Sliberian, his practice blends poetry, music and photography.
His photographic work aims to capture the essence of modern urban man, then distort reality through image processing to reveal its depth, frozen in time. His explorations led him to collaborate with Meryll Rogue during Paris Fashion Week.
Through all the mediums he employs, his art questions identity, transformation and highlights the often invisible histories of the African diaspora and the urban realities that flow from it.

Prince Amani Kouame, a Montreal-based Ivorian, is the voice and musical force behind the group Sliberium, as well as a video artist and composer. Prince Amani Kouame, a Montreal-based Ivorian better known as KUMA, is one of the founding members of Sliberium. He is one of the group's main voices and musical force.
An aspiring sound engineer and soundtrack composer, Kouame also contributes to Sliber's visual universe through videography and image processing.
His dream is to create a music festival in Côte d'Ivoire, raising funds, raising awareness of local environmental issues and passing on knowledge and opportunities to future generations.

Former Céline Dion singer Rachelle "Raw" Jeanty has left glamour behind for a spiritual, rebellious "Mantra Funk" that celebrates her black roots. From Madison Square Gardens to the streets of Berlin, Rachelle Jeanty has peeled back the layers of her colonized baggage to become Rachelle Raw. A singer-songwriter, this seasoned performer and former Céline Dion backing vocalist has chosen to leave the glamour of pop behind to devote herself to the call of her soul.
Today, Rachelle Raw's "Mantra Funk", performed mainly with her voice, is imbued with both spirituality and revolt, with tales of trials and tribulations on her journey, but also of triumphs, on the road to reunion with her Negroid roots. A unique and transcendent one-woman act.

Amélie Tintin is a cultural strategist and music publisher from Guadeloupe, recognized for her decisive role in the international French-language music industry.
For over 20 years, she has been creating opportunities and facilitating fruitful collaborations between artists and professionals from the Caribbean, Canada and France. Founder of Gwa Label, she has developed and created festivals, produced artists, participated in numerous television projects (including Music Explorer), and accompanied young Caribbean and French talent towards professionalization in the music industry. As head of Nouvelle Vague in Canada, Amélie develops writing residencies and innovative musical projects that foster the discovery and promotion of emerging artists.
Her expertise has enabled her to work closely with ADVANCE MUSIC, the Francos de Montréal and other major events, strengthening the presence and visibility of Caribbean artists on international stages. Pomeline is General Manager of Indie Montréal, a company that has been offering à la carte services to businesses, NPOs and artists for over 10 years. Passionate about development issues, she represents and promotes a diversity of artists from various backgrounds (rock, funk, electro, chanson, world music, folk, etc.). The link between different communities and territories is close to her heart, and she pushes no geographical boundaries in her choice of artists. Her core business remains artist booking and management, but she also has other strings to her bow, such as business development, press relations, consulting and grant applications.

Carlos Munoz

Carlos "Los" Munoz is a Chilean-born Montreal producer and businessman, and a key figure in the Quebec music industry. Co-founder and director of Joy Ride Records, he has over 20 years' experience in music production, artist management and live shows. Under his leadership, the label has become a pillar of French-language hip-hop, with over 1,500 songs, 300 music videos and 1,250 concerts produced in a dozen countries. It has propelled the careers of major artists such as Loud - the first Quebec rapper to go gold and platinum in the streaming era - Rymz and White-B. Joy Ride has won Félix awards, Junos, certifications and Prix SOCAN, and has performed at prestigious venues such as the Bell Centre and Olympia in Paris. Today, Carlos also leads Joy Ride Latino, a new division dedicated to the Latin scene, with artists such as Cruzito, Mariana Gueza and Chilldeiv.

Aicha Tohry practices creative industries law. She assists and represents clients in a multitude of fields, including entertainment, marketing and information technology. A member of the Quebec and Ontario bars, Ms. Tohry is regularly invited to speak at conferences on topics such as copyright, influencer marketing and arts law. A 2016 graduate of Université de Montréal's Faculty of Law, she now teaches entertainment law as a lecturer. She also supervises the intellectual property division of the Clinique juridique de l'Université de Montréal. In 2024, her first book, "Guide pratique sur le marketing d'influence", was published by Éditions Yvon Blais.

Ansfrid Tchetchenigbo is a committed player in the Montreal cultural scene. A former cultural advisor in music at the Conseil des arts de Montréal, he has assisted numerous artists and organizations in the development of their projects. Today, as a cultural funding consultant, he shares his expertise on grant strategies and the resources available to music artists. For many years, he has been interested in the history of the Black Atlantic and the cultures and arts that emerged from it, particularly through music and film. He is also the instigator of Impressions, an ephemeral bookshop showcasing Afrodescendant works. He has collaborated with numerous organizations, including the RIDM, the Montreal Black Film Festival and the Musée des beaux-arts for the exhibition À plein volume: Basquiat et la musique. Passionate about independent music, he was also musical director of university radio station CHOQ.CA.

Rama Sow is a data scientist with a passion for culture. A recent graduate with a master's degree in business intelligence from HEC Montréal, Rama is deeply passionate about using data to enable organizations and individuals to make informed decisions. As founder of The Study and Deli, she pioneered a platform that enables brands, athletes and creatives to harness the power of qualitative research, data science and analytics. In addition, Rama also held the position of data scientist at Cossette, where she provided actionable insights to support strategic initiatives for a diverse client base, including BRP, SAQ/SQDC, Bonjour Québec, Destination Canada, Telus, Amazon Web Services, Loto-Québec and many others.

Koudjo is a composer, publisher, record producer and entrepreneur renowned for his work with some of the biggest names in French rap and francophone music. With over 700,000 albums sold, 4 platinum discs and 5 gold discs to his credit, he has collaborated with Youssoupha, Soprano, Naza and Keblack, Jul, Rohff, Nekfeu, Booba, Connaisseur, Imposs, Sarahmée, Lost and many other artists. He founded his own publishing house, PS23 in 2014 in co-publishing with Warner Chappell France thanks to Adel Khadar (MHD, ZedYun Pavaroti), a first for a Montreal publisher. Koudjo is co-founder with Benny of Qcltur media, a platform dedicated to promoting French-speaking culture. Launched in 2019, the media accumulates over 200 interview contents, 3 million views, 25K subscribers, a compilation album with 23 artists, an Osheaga festival and several media appearances.

Olivier Laroche is a jack-of-all-trades in the arts and communications. For 25 years, as a bassist, he accompanied a host of artists from all horizons and musical genres. He has also studied acting and worked as a television host. From 2018 to 2021, he was an entertainment agent, which gave him a better understanding of the needs of venue and festival programmers. He is the founder of Ateliers Pimp ton show, a professional and personalized show design and stage coaching service. With his experienced outside eye, Olivier Laroche proposes simple, concrete solutions to optimize the impact of all types of musical performances. He brings out the full communicative potential of his clients and helps transform their shows into unique experiences. His working method can be adapted to all styles of popular music: rock, blues, metal, folk, funk, jazz, chanson, hip-hop, electro, world music, traditional, etc.

He is now self-employed, specializing in rights management, offering artists, managers and small businesses the service of registering and managing repertoires with management companies.

Over the years, his work has contributed to the discovery of numerous talents. The first Quebec cultural relations specialist to obtain the PRP (Public Relations Professional) designation, he has received numerous nominations and awards in Quebec and internationally (ADISQ, GAMIQ, Gala Country, Global Awards, GRAMMY). His love of the public and new artists is undoubtedly his daily driving force.

Patrice Agbokou is a seasoned musician and producer, active in the cultural milieu for over two decades. In 2011, he founded PASA Musik, a structure dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and supporting emerging talent on local, national and international stages. Thanks to his artistic expertise and in-depth knowledge of distribution networks, Patrice works to build bridges between cultures, promoting projects that combine a deep-rooted sense of identity with openness to the world. He is actively involved in developing tours, producing shows and showcasing artists from often under-represented backgrounds.

Daniel Lafrance

Daniel Lafrance has been a music publisher since 1976. He has also worked as a record producer, manager, tour manager and director. After running his own publishing house for three decades, he has been Managing Director of music publisher Éditorial Avenue since the early 2000s. Daniel Lafrance is founder of the Association des Professionnels de l'Édition Musicale (APEM) and honorary life member of ADISQ, which has awarded him the Félix for Publisher of the Year nine times at its annual Gala. He also received the Christopher J. Reed Award in June 2013 for his commitment to the professional publishing community and his exceptional contribution to the practice and recognition of the profession. More recently, in 2017 and again in 2020, he was named Publisher of the Year by SOCAN.
Daniel Lafrance has served on several boards, including those of ADISQ (secretary and treasurer from 1985 to 1996), Musicaction (vice-president from 1992 to 1996), SODRAC (from 1990 to 2008) as vice-president and SACEM representative, CINARS (treasurer from 1989 to 1992) and APEM (founder, president from 2003 to 2011 and vice-president from 2011 to 2016). He also served on the CMRRA Board of Directors from 2009 to 2019 and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Today, he represents the publishing sector on SODEC's Commission du disque et du spectacle de variétés, sits on the Board of Directors of Music Publishers Canada, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, SOCAN's Governance Committee and chairs the SOCAN DR (reproduction rights) Committee.
Daniel Lafrance has been giving workshops and lectures in Canada and France, as well as courses on behalf of APEM for over twenty years. He is co-author of a book entitled L'édition musicale, de la partition à la musique virtuelle, published in 2010 by Éditions Berger and distributed in Canada, France, Switzerland and Belgium. A second, updated and enriched version of the book was published in autumn 2018. He also published Après la disruption, innover en édition musicale in November 2020.
